In late 2022, The Art of Building program began to explore new mediums and, ultimately, engaged three additional artists. See below to learn about these artists and their work.

The Art of Building program continues to pursue new mediums and artists who share our interest in craft workers and the built environment.

Sergiy Maidukov

Sergiy Maidukov is a Ukrainian born illustrator who graduated from the Kyiv National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture. He has worked with the New Yorker, the Washington Post, the New York Times, VQR, the Guardian, the Financial Times, and others. His clients have also included Google, Adobe, and Toyota.  Sergiy created the illustrations below from photographs taken by Photographer-in-Residence, Aleksey Kondratyev, at Clark job sites.  

Art Lien

Art Lien is a courtroom sketch artist who spent his 45-year career at NBC documenting thousands of events and historic Supreme Court cases for the network. As part of his engagement with The Art of Building program, Art traveled to Clark’s Paramount project in Baltimore to draw the daily interactions and camaraderie of the craft workers there. Meghan Jones

Meghan Jones has her undergraduate degree in Architecture from the University of Virginia and is currently completing her Master’s degree in Architecture at Columbia University. As part of her engagement with The Art of Building program, Meghan sketched Clark’s projects on the Chicago skyline.  Her sketches can be viewed below:
